REVIEW: New Baskin Robbins Cotton Candy Ice Cream Bar
As an ice cream artisan, I don‘t like store-bought ice cream for multiple reasons, but every once in a long while, a new or unique product just pulls me in.
I mean, can you blame me? Just look at it.
While a few ice cream bars from BR have been around for a while now, this is the first time I see this flavor. I took one thinking it would be a total fail, but my curiosity got the better of me. I tried this as soon as I bought it.
After the first couple bites, the ice cream wasn't as colorful as the box depicted, but I noticed how well the white chocolate melted despite coming straight out of the freezer. A couple more bites revealed the beautiful cotton candy swirls inside.
The texture was, of course, light and fluffy -- two qualities I'm personally not fond of. A richer and denser base would have been perfect, but low overrun isn't exactly something you should come to expect from most commercial ice creams. This was very, very sweet, so the cotton candy flavor came in like a hint at the end of every bite.
I didn't dislike this as much as I thought I would, but I wouldn't mind exploring more flavors from this range. Especially if they're pretty lol.
Let me know what other local ice cream you'd like me to review!
